Total Family Massage: The Musical!
December 12th – 29th at Eclectic Theater
If you are like me, you need your musical theatre experience to strike you on a vast majority of levels. Of course you need to connect with the characters and maybe tear-up at least once. But you also need to laugh so hard you snort and there must be costumes that leave stars in your eyes. If you are being honest, there should be a dance number that leaves your toes tapping and at least one humongous dazzling showstopper that gives you goose bumps for days after. If you are truly like me, your ideal show will also provide you with a new personal mantra that you can sing to yourself on your worst days. Total Family Massage: The Musical! delivers on all of these levels, and more.
This musical is a wacky queer-themed holiday show about family, love, personal triumph and a true reminder to live your life to its fullest. It could not be premiering at a better time! With the holidays right around the corner, marriage equality in full swing and the legalization of marijuana underway, you will be hard pressed to find a show that will better celebrate these topics. It truly is a perfect way to enjoy your holidays Seattle-style!
The show takes place one year in the future, in three acts; a wedding reception for David and Marquis at their apartment in Seattle, a funeral wake for David’s recently deceased father, and an adoption party on Christmas Eve. As members of the newlywed’s families keep showing up, their apartment keeps getting smaller and more cramped. Naturally, in such close quarters drama and hilarity ensue; perfect situations for musical numbers that you will not soon forget!

CAPITOL HILL is one of Seattle’s best neighborhoods. This bustling corridor hosts some of the best restaurants, bars, and clubs that the city has to offer. We recommend:
Po’ Dog for quick cheap eats and beer, literally right around the corner.
Lost Lake Cafe a premiere 24-hr diner, oh yeah they got chicken fried steak.
Quinns impeccable atmosphere, libations, reputed with the city’s best burger.
Make a night out of it. It is the season for sharing, is it not? We’ll see you there.
